New Moon

Wow, last night was one of the most fun and exciting nights I have had in a long time. Shannon and I have been counting down the days for awhile and when it was finally the night of the midnight showing for New Moon, we couldn't contain our excitement! Dressed in our Twilight t-shirts, we couldn't wait any longer and headed to the theatre at 8:00pm...four hours before the showing! Armed with our books to keep us busy, we were ready to wait. But when we got there we realized that they had tickets left for the 8:00pm showing of Twilight and the people that watched that movie got first dibs on seats for New Moon. We bought are tickets and settled in for our first movie!
(me and Shan in our shirts we had made)
We had an hour wait before Twilight, but it passed quickly. You may ask where Brad and Josh are...they were at our apartment playing video games because they had no desire to sit and wait with us. We left their tickets for New Moon in the car.

We had the PERFECT seats for Twilight! The smiles you see on our faces were that way all night long!

When we got in our seats for New Moon, we could hardly contain ourselves! With our Edward cups and Twilight buckets of popcorn, and our husbands by our side, we settled in to see the much anticipated second movie of the Twilight Saga.

We were not to be let down! We cheered, gasped, and teared up with all the other teenagers, young adults and older people. The movie was amazing and one of the best movies I have ever seen!
Now we only have to wait 6 months for number 3, Eclipse, to come out!

In 15 hours....

....I will be in the theater of Majestic 12, sporting my I heart Edward t-shirt, waiting for New Moon to start! Brad, Shannon, and Josh will be right there with me...as well as all the other people that bought tickets to the midnight showing. I have never been so excited to see a movie, it will get out late, and I have to be at work at 7am...but it is worth it! Call me crazy, but I love the Twilight Saga!!

The Dickie's 500

Nov. 8, was not only Dad's birthday, it was also the date of the Dickie's 500 NASCAR race. I always look forward to Nov. and April because Brad and I enjoy going to the races. This time, Susan and Blake were also able to come also. It was the first time either of them had been.

Before the race started, we walked around and then all went to mom and dad's seats for the pre-show (thankfully not everyone watches this part so we were able to find empty seats around mom and dads). The first of the show consisted of the TCU marching band.

The four of us in our "borrowed" seats and mom and dad in theirs.

Then it was time for the main part of the pre-show: ZZTop!
(Dad was SO excited that they were playing on his birthday!)

Blake on the other hand, was more interested seeing the cars through his binoculars!

When the concert was over, we split up and went to our own seats and our attention was turned to the sky. An Army helicopter was flown in and delivered the pace car (a 2010 Camaro). It was very neat to see! It landed just to the side of mine and Brad's seats!

Mine and Brad's favorite drivers (Martin Truex Jr. and Carl Edwards) leaving pit row at the beginning of the race.

It was a pretty good race. Kurt Busch ended up winning because the leader, Kyle Busch, ran out of gas with only two laps left! Here he is doing his famous victory lap...backwards with the checkered flag.

On the way home, we stopped at Sonic to get a bite to eat, and this is the sight of Susan's backseat!

God Bless Our Troops

Earlier this week, there was a helicopter crash in Afghanistan, killing 14 soldiers. One of them being Shawn McNabb from Terrell. Brad and I had the pleasure of knowing Shawn. He had already served three tours in Iraq and this was his first in Afghanistan. Shawn was only 24 and leaves behind a fiancee. Please be in prayer for his family and the families of the other soldiers that were in the crash.

God Bless Our Troops! We are so thankful for them all and their sacrifices made!

In just under a month...

...New Moon will come out in theaters! In case you didn't know, I am a HUGE Twilight fan! Ashlea got me to read the books over the summer and I fell in love with all the books and the first movie. The second movie, New Moon, is scheduled to come out on Nov. 20! I am so excited and even though it will be packed, I plan to see it opening weekend!! Only 28 days!

Defiance

Brad and I are always looking for a good movie to watch and since we were at mom and dad's last night, we took a look into their "movie store" and Brad picked out Defiance. I wasn't too thrilled about it, but agreed to get it. I figured I could take a nap while he watched it. When he started it this afternoon, I learned that it was a WWII movie but mainly about the Jews that were trying to escape concentration camps. As I have said before, I love anything that has to do with WWII and this movie was REALLY good! It is based on a true story and I give it two thumbs up!!

Defiance is a riveting adventure that showcases the extraordinary true story of the Bielski brothers, simple farmers, out numbered and out gunned - who turned a group of war refugees into powerful freedom fighters. Tuvia Bielski, along with his brother Zus, motivate hundreds of civilians to join their ranks against the Nazi regime. Their "inspirational story" is a true testament to the human spirit.
